Carn Aosda – Munro bagging with a toddler
Settled weather, just before the first snow of the year always makes us want to get out and have one last adventure before we’re a little more restricted with what we do, the thought of mountain walking in full on winter conditions with an unhappy toddler strapped to our backs not being one of the cosiest things to be doing in the depths of winter!
We headed to Glenshee, our son eager to head up the mountain which stood at 917m and with the help of the car park being at about 650m, we were sure he’d be leading the way up there!
With our only aim to reach the top, we took it at a leisurely pace, thinking that our son would enjoy the experience more if he felt in control of it, and could properly experience it himself. It took us about 3 hours round trip. We found a sheltered spot at the top for a quick bite to eat before sauntering back down to the car. The weather was perfect, very settled so we were lucky and we found a bit of ice to play with, laden with the promise of a wonderful winter on its way!
